"I'm fine, I'm fine," he waves his hand vaguely in Carter's direction, but at least he doesn't fight Carter off when he helps him settle down. He scowls though, he hates being taken out of commission like this, hates not being able to be at 100% in order to...well, he can't protect anyone if he's like this.

He's not used to protecting people he actually cares about. It stokes a new sort of fear in him--the same that appeared when Carter was in trouble, when Hardison showed up earlier.
